The Heart of the Podcast
The Fiery Friends Podcast launched back in November 2020 as a pretty simple concept; just two brothers in Christ wanting to have a good time talking about our passions in life, most important of all those passions always being Jesus! Over time, the podcast has evolved to feature many amazing guest stars and to include many different elements to make the show more exciting, which you can read more about below, but at the end of the day the primary goal of this show will always be inviting people into a community of joyful discussion of the things that bring fire to our lives!! You can find all of our episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all of the major podcast platforms!
Types of Episodes
Throughout the episodes of Fiery Friends, we have had many different types of episodes that have been part of the show! Currently in Season 8, we are prioritizing Scripture Summaries and have brought back the Wheel of Fire! You can read about all our episode types below!
ACTIVE EPISODE TYPES:
Scripture Summaries - Starting in Season 4, Dan and Zach began a quest to make at least one podcast on ALL 66 BOOKS of the entire Bible! Each episode they break down a book of the Bible and share their highlights!

Pixar Movie Reviews - Starting in Season 2, Dan and Zach began a journey to try and do a podcast on all the Pixar movies! Each episode they review the content of the movie and try to find any deep spiritual things that can be taken away from them, and then at the end of each review, they add the newest movie to their ranking!

Bracket Podcasts - A common episode type through the history of Fiery Friends has been the Bracket episodes! We started these in S1 and have done at least one almost every season! They are always a fun time to determine the best things in different categories!

Wheel of Fire Episodes - Debuting in Season 2, every week on the show Zach & Dan would spin this amazing thing known as the “Wheel of Fire”, which was essentially just a carnival wheel with 14 slots, and on each slot was a different idea for an episode topic! These ideas have ranged from deep and spiritual things such as “Mission Trips” or “Stories Behind Songs” to silly fun things such as “What is Trash?” or a “Price is Right” game, and the variety kept the show feeling interesting and fresh! The wheel retired at the end of Season 4 but recently has returned in Season 8!

INACTIVE EPISODE TYPES
Zach Monologue Episodes - Occasionally over the course of Fiery Friends, Zach has done monologue episodes when Dan hasn’t been available or when there was a topic he particularly wanted to discuss. These will be discontinued in the future due to the birth of the WOW Chronicles Podcast, which will be an alternative place for Zach monologues, but they are fun to look back on.

Miscellaneous Episodes - Any episode that doesn’t fall into one of the other aforementioned categories is a miscellaneous episode. This includes episodes from Season 1 when we chose topics more randomly, most season premieres and finales, episodes with alternate guests when Dan wasn’t available, the reaction special, and any other times we did an episode apart from another specific series.

Little Coal Archive
Back in episode 2 of Fiery Friends, Zach & Dan’s friend David Novak coined the term “little coal” for each of our guest stars, because each “little coal” stokes the fire of our friendships!! ——Season 5——
Season 5 was the longest season timewise, but has also had the fewest episodes as post marriage and moving to Texas, Zach and Dan were a bit scattered and therefore the opportunities to record episodes were a bit fewer than in the past. This season of distance and only occasional episodes saw the Wheel discontinued for the time being, and the few episodes included in this season were primarily Scripture Summaries & a Pixar Movie review, with some Zach monologues and a fun premiere as well. This season was mostly a gap in the overall greater chronology of Fiery Friends.
——Season 6——
Season 6 was the grande return of Fiery Friends 2 years after Dan’s marriage and Zach’s time in Texas and on the International Treasure Hunt! With both guys in Waukesha again, the podcast was reborn with approximately bi-weekly episodes and shifted focus to the 3 primary series’ of Scripture Summaries, Pixar Movie Reviews, and Bracket Podcasts.

——Season 7——
This Season kicked off with the start of 2025, and continued all the way until Episode 100!! It featured a mix of many of Fiery Friends’ favorite tropes, from Scripture Summaries, to Pixar Movies, to Brackets, to an amazing deep premiere and an iconic legendary finale celebrating the entire history of the show!
——Season 8——
After Episode 100, Dan and Zach launched Season 8 with the return of the Wheel of Fire!! This Season would continue to prioritize Scripture Summaries but put Pixar Movies on the backburner to allow for the wheel to select some more fun episode topics, including the return of brackets and the realization of other wheel ideas that never happened back in the old days!
